We have updated our Galapagos Islands trips and added 3 new small-group departures, in conjunction with our local partners in Ecuador.
We have chosen to base these trips in hotel accommodation, on multiple islands, instead of staying on board a boat the whole time. You still get to see and experience all the same wildlife, and there will be plenty of boat trips included whilst travelling between the islands and on your daily activities. We feel that staying on the islands gives you a chance to see a bit more of local life in the evenings, puts more money into the local economy than being on a boat all the time and offers the opportunity to partake in more land based activities, exploring the islands in more depth.
We have 3 different trips to choose from. These are available on a bi-weekly basis starting and finishing in Quito, with departures on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
How the Trips Run
The trips all start and end with a flight between Quito and the Islands. We will pick you up from your hotel on Day 1, and drop you back at your hotel at the end of the trip.
If you would like us to arrange Quito accommodation for you, we can certainly do that, as well as adding airport arrival and departure transfers.
A local trip leader accompanies each trip throughout, and specialist naturalist guides are also used to lead some of the activities and visits. Accommodation is in mid-range hotels on the islands, with travel to the various sites done by minivan/minibus or by boat.
Some trips may also add a domestic flight connection between some of the islands. These trips can also run before or after our overland trips that start and finish in Quito.
Starts in Cartagena on 24 Oct 2024, ending in Quito on Thu 14 Nov. You can continue with Galapagos Uncovered starting on Sat 15 Nov or Galapagos Essentials starting on Sun 16 Nov.
Starts in Quito on Fri 15 Nov 2024.
Could be run straight after the Galapagos Essentials trip that finishes on Thu 14 November, or Best of Galapagos that finishes on Fri 15 November.
