Our tips for long haul travel

Long-haul flights can be a challenge, but a few simple strategies can make them much more comfortable—especially when you’re heading off on an Oasis Overland adventure. Staying hydrated with a large water bottle, packing protein-rich snacks, and bringing sleeping essentials like a neck pillow, eye mask, and earplugs can make a big difference. It’s also important to move around during the flight to keep circulation healthy, wear compression socks if needed, and take steps to minimize jet lag by adjusting your watch, tweaking your sleep schedule, and avoiding alcohol, caffeine, and heavy carb-laden meals. With a little preparation, even the longest flight becomes easier, and all the effort is worth it when you arrive at your destination ready to explore.

He recommends Iran for its friendly people, historic sites, and varied roads. His advice to travellers? Pack clothes pegs, a washing line, and a sense of humour.
